It’s a double feature for episode 91 of the DCAU Review as the Good Brothers cover “Cat Scratch Fever” and “The Strange Secret of Bruce Wayne” both from Batman: The Animated Series. It’s a vastly different set of episodes as Cal and Liam tear the first episode to shreds, from the animation to the plot to even some tepid voice-acting in the Catwoman-centric episode. How can a character be both too fluid and too stiff at the same time? Find out today as Cal and Liam delve deep into the story of the animation studio that earned the nickname “The kiss of death” with their poor animation! In the palate-cleansing second episode, our hosts enjoy a very comic-book storyline centered around the Dark Knight’s deepest secrets being exposed, and an ensemble cast made up of DCAU voice-acting legends. All of this and scorecards for both episodes on today’s all-new episode!

Ep. 78 – BTAS – Eternal Youth & Perchance To Dream

Image result for eternal youth title cardImage result for perchance to dream title card The month of November is here, and Cal & Liam kickoff a month of Batman: The Animated Series reviews with a double feature! Never before have there been two polar opposite episodes featured on one podcast as the Good Brothers discuss the episodes “Eternal Youth” and “Perchance To Dream.” First, the brothers have what can only be described as shared disdain for a bizarre episode featuring #MyAlfred and the never before seen or heard from again Maggie. The brothers are fairly harsh in their criticism and comparison to a lost Batman ’66 episode but this episode does bring about the largest score disparity to date and for only the second time in DCAU Review history, a point deduction!

Up next the guys discuss one of the most universally loved episodes where we learn what it would be like if Bruce never put on the cape and cowl and instead lived solely as Bruce Wayne. Cal and Liam talk about some great subtleties in the soundtrack, the psychology of Batman’s ability to be happy and talk foreshadowing throughout the episode! Of course, they have full scorecards for each episode and an exciting preview of next week’s all-new DCAU Review!

Ep. 59 – STAS – Unity

There are bad episodes that you can enjoy, and then there is “Unity”, the episode from Superman: The Animated Series which the Good Brothers cover on this week’s DCAU Review. Join the hosts as they struggle through a painstakingly bad episode filled with nonsensical plot devices, frightening animation, confusing character origins, and more Dennis Haysbert than you can shake a unity monster tentacle at. Plus a pair of historic scores from this week’s scorecard. Strap in and enjoy this historic and entertaining breakdown of one of the worst the DCAU has to offer!

Ep. 38 – BTAS – Fear Of Victory

Image result for fear of victory
Episode 38 marks the return of the Scarecrow to Batman: The Animated Series, however it’s not one worthy of celebrating according to the Good Brothers. Cal & Liam hold nothing back when it comes to dissecting this episode’s choice for plot including the ridiculousness of Scarecrow’s scheme, lazy animation choices, fluttering mustaches and questionable voice acting from one of the series’ top players. Could this episode possibly rank lower than their most infamously hated episode? It’s a super-sized Episode 6 of The DCAU Review! Cal & Liam discuss a pair of Batman:The Animated Series episodes on opposite ends of the scale when it comes to their scorecards. First up they cover an almost-universally despised episode 6, The Underdwellers. A controversial plot leaves the guys feeling uncomfortable and desperate to clean their palates with another episode. They then jump into covering one of the highest-scoring episodes to date, episode 7 entitled P.O.V. – an homage to the old Max Fleischer Superman cartoons of the 1940s and a story that relies heavily on non-Batman characters. Fun, laughs, full score cards for each episode, PLUS Liam’s #CapeMovement Corner all on this week’s edition of the DCAU Review!
